A Sturdy Black Clutch That Holds Almost Anything
LatestShop is from the biz minds at Jezebel (so to be clear, this is not editorial). Every once in awhile, we’ll bring you content about unique products or stores. Today’s contributor is Erica Cerulo from Of a Kind, an NYC-based startup that curates products from fresh, independent designers.
A clutch can feel like one of those fancy-girl accessories that makes life harder instead of easier-who needs a too-small, too-festive bag that you have to carry? In your hands?
The girls behind the line Fleabags totally get that: Alex Bell and Shira Entis met the very first week of their freshman year at Brown and started their co. in 2008 when they couldn’t find totes sturdy enough for their flea-market hauls (more here on where exactly they’re doing their digging in NYC). They like utility.
The beauty of this black-on-black, canvas-and-leather number — besides the fact that it’s one of 75 in the world, only available at Of a Kind — is that it’s big enough for an iPad or for all the stuff you carry that you don’t actually need (multiple packs of Orbit, receipts from 2010). And, though it can totally hang with a nighttime glass of wine (or whiskey!), it’s equally appropriate for A.M. errand-running when you roll out of bed, realize you’re out of coffee, and can’t stand the thought of lugging around that ginormous sack you carry most days. It gives the illusion that you do, at least kinda, have your shit together.
Click here to score the clutch! It’s $120, there were only 75 made, and you’ll use the crap out of it (just ask Claire who hasn’t put it down since the sample arrived at our office).
