Armie Hammer’s Mom Identifies Just What the Podcast World Needs! More Cancelled Men.

There are a lot (I mean, A LOT) of god-awful, ear-bleed-inducing, rage-baiting podcasts out there, but this one has to take the cake.

Armie Hammer’s mom, Dru, went on TMZ Live on Wednesday to explain the premise of her new podcast, where she’ll give a platform to “disgraced” men because, in her words, “canceled men deserve a voice.” Yes, you read that right. Cancelled men deserve a voice

My brain can’t even compute this phrase. Cancelled men deserve a voice. It won’t stop ringing in my ears. Whoever is running my simulation made this up specifically to piss me off. Get me out of here!

On her podcast, Hollywood and Divine, she wants to “talk to these people and say, ‘What have you learned from these mistakes?’ Because we’ve all made mistakes… but we want to give people the opportunity to talk.’” She also name-dropped Johnny Depp, saying he was “wronged.” Again, get me out of here!!!

Why does Dru feel entitled to helm this podcast? Perhaps because her baby boy was left chronically unemployed after damning allegations of assault, cannibalism, and rape became public. Although he never faced charges, he did face some consequences—the consequences being that he had to start a podcast. So I guess the grift runs in the family.

“Armie went through many trials, the interesting thing is, the girls who accused him of rape, they actually stayed in my home. I’ve been to dinner with them; they were madly in love with him,” she said to TMZ. (We don’t have the time or the energy to get into how problematic those 30 or so words are.) “And you know, he didn’t wanna fight back—I called him one day, and I’m like, ‘OK, if you won’t fight back, can I? Because I am a momma bear and I wanna defend my son!'”

Despite her podcast already sounding like the worst idea in the history of human thought, it got worse when she started listing off her so-called “dream guests,” including Kanye West, Danny Masterson, Kevin Spacey, and Matt Lauer.

“We all make mistakes!” She repeated, as she attempted to defend terrible men, at least one of whom has been convicted of rape. I don’t know why I’m surprised—our society already defends abusers, so what’s one more deranged lady?

In 2024, Dru appeared on Armie’s podcast, where she shared an unsettling story about gifting him a vasectomy for his birthday, saying, “I know there are these young girls that would love to have Armie Hammer’s baby.” So just remember that’s what we’re dealing with here…

The level of delusion it takes to feel you must rescue awful men from the consequences of their actions just to avoid accepting that you raised an abuser… the cognitive dissonance is off the charts.

Therapy is the answer, Dru, NOT a podcast…and that rule applies to 99% of podcasts.
