Chicago Playboy Club To Reopen In Hopes Of Luring Don Draper Wannabees
Soon you won’t have to settle for watching TV characters objectify ladies in a retro setting. There are plans to open a new Chicago Playboy Club, just a few blocks from where the original opened 51 years ago. In recent years clubs have opened in Las Vegas, London, and Cancun, but they’re all attached to casinos or hotels. The new club would be stand alone and the real estate company that licensed the name is eyeing a mansion on the Near North Side, which is currently occupied by a restaurant. The club is expected to open next year, by which time the Playboy Club TV show will probably be long-forgotten. However, the investors seem confident that there are still plenty of classy individuals who long to oogle clothed women in an ’80s hair band-free zone.
