Dr. Pimple Popper's Christmas Special Is Here to Extract the Holiday Spirit from Your Heart

The most bizarre, disgusting, and quite frankly mad holiday-themed special maybe of all time aired on Thursday night. TLC’s Dr. Pimple Popper: The 12 Pops of Christmas featured the ever-effervescent Dr. Sandra Lee pulling various masses—including a 55-year-old blackhead—out of people’s skin and laughing all the way. Instead of comparing the oozing discharge to food, this time Dr. PP struck a bunch of Christmas analogies: pus was snow, blackheads were coal, a pair of keloids were ornaments. She also hung up actual ornaments painted to look like various skin conditions, played a classical-guitar version of “The 12 Days of Christmas” that was growth-themed, and enjoyed a visit from Santa. At this point, this show is completely surreal. You know, it totally makes sense how we got to a place where a jolly woman irrigates mounds of dead skin cells from people’s bodies in the name of spreading holiday spirit on reality TV, but I’ll be damned if I ever saw this one coming. Bravo.
