During the first weekend of Coachella, Florence Welch dove off the stage during her performance, fulfilling the dream of every live performer. She also broke the hell out of her foot. She returned for a shortened second-weekend set and made up for the time by bringing Father John Misty to accompany her in a heartbreaking cover of “Love Hurts.”

While I’m not a huge fan of Florence Welch myself —although I do like that song about sweet nothings—this cover is both skilled and heartbreaking. Welch’s throaty vibrato lends itself well to the Everly Brothers classic, and if you close your eyes for a second it almost sounds like she’s channeling an older Judy Collins in some places (which is always a good thing).
The cover’s worth your three minutes, but it’s a lot for a Monday. Have a tissue handy.
