Former KKK Grand Wizard: Voting for Anyone Other Than Donald Trump Is 'Treason to Your Heritage'

Politics

Candidates (like Bernie Sanders) can take a hit when their supporters get a little obnoxious. But Donald Trump isn’t a normal candidate—he is a hair that you pluck, causing a cluster of hairs to sprout in its place; he is a rash that gets bigger and itchier the more you scratch it; he is a Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, David Duke, former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard, used his radio show to make an appeal to Trump’s main demographic, the racist.

“Voting for these people,” he said on the David Duke Radio Program, referring to Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, “voting against Donald Trump at this point is really treason to your heritage. I’m not saying I endorse everything about Trump, in fact I haven’t formally endorsed him. But I do support his candidacy, and I support voting for him as a strategic action. I hope he does everything we hope he will do.”

We would imagine he is speaking exclusively to white people.

“Get off your duff,” he said in a recording initially reported by BuzzFeed News. “Get off your rear end that’s getting fatter and fatter for many of you everyday on your chairs. When this show’s over, go out and call the Republican Party, but call Donald Trump’s headquarters, volunteer. They’re screaming for volunteers. Go in there, you’re gonna meet people who are going to have the same kind of mindset that you have.”

I bet they are! Like-minded friends—aren’t they great?
