Here Are the Senators Who Oppose the Violence Against Women Act
LatestAre you for or against violent crimes against women? Ask these 8 male senators who voted yesterday not to consider the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act.
As you may recall, Congress failed to reauthorize the bill by the end of 2012 because Republicans were super concerned about new provisions that would protect undocumented immigrants, Native Americans, and the LGBT community. (God forbid!) Luckily, 85 senators voted in favor of taking up the renewal of VAWA last night, and it’s expected to pass by the end of the week.
Still, let’s not let the naysayers slide. Here’s contact info for the senators who’d rather not ensure the investigation and prosecution of violent crimes against women:
Ted Cruz (R-TX): Yell at him here.
Mike Lee (R-UT) Yell at him here.
James Risch (R-ID) Yell at him here.
Tim Scott (R-SC) Yell at him here.
Pat Roberts (R-KS) Yell at him here.

Bonus: Deb Fischer (R-NE) Yell at her (ugh) here, because she’s the only women in the Senate who didn’t co-sponsor the legislation.
