As expected, a new Amy Winehouse album is in the pipeline.
Winehouse’s tumultuous two year marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil apparently inspired the singer to write and later record songs about her heartbreak. During their union, which ended in 2009, Fielder-Civil went to prison and Winehouse publicly struggled with addiction.
While most of the songs inspired by that relationship were recorded as demos, there’s enough material to piece together an album and release them in the upcoming months.
Amy’s father says that all proceeds from this album will benefit organizations that provide services to people struggling with addiction.
