Summer's Celebrities Are Out in Full Force in Childish Gambino's Video for 'Feels Like Summer'

It’s been a long season for celebrity news—remember when Azealia Banks hid in Elon Musk’s house? When Nicki Minaj blamed Travis Scott for her poor album sales? Drake’s secret baby? Kanye West stanning for Donald Trump? Gang’s all here, albeit in animated form, in Childish Gambino’s new video for “Feels Like Summer,” so we can relive celebrity’s greatest Summer 2018 moments over and over again.

There’s a lot of other stuff, obviously. The video was directed by Donald Glover, Ivan Dixon, and Greg Sharp, with character designs by Justin Richburg and animation by Dixon. It features an animated Bino (i.e., Glover) walking through a typical summer neighborhood scene—melting ice cream, folks grilling, kids drenching one another with Super Soakers—but with a slew of celebrity appearances.

Take, for instance, the pivotal scene in which Michelle Obama hugs a MAGA hat-wearing West, or when Scott knocks down Minaj’s block tower, or when Future chases Drake on a bicycle. At some point, you can spot Banks in a tree, which checks out.
