We at Gawker Media use a chat program to communicate amongst ourselves. Each site has their own “room,” denoted with a hashtag. But all of the rooms are archived and searchable to everyone who works here, unless you form a private group to make things private.
Most people don’t know how to make things private yet, so any group chat shit talking is something those of us with a “JEZEBEL” alert on slack get to see, like, as it happens.
Especially Gawker.
