Track Palin Pleads Not Guilty to Felony Charge

Track Palin, eldest son of Sarah, has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge for allegedly breaking into his family’s home last month and assaulting his father over a truck.

According to the New York Post, Palin’s lawyer entered the plea to the burglary charge, with Palin participating by phone. His trial has been set for the week of February 26. He also pleaded not guilty last month to misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief, and is currently out on bail with electronic monitoring.

The proceedings stem from what sounds like a rather unfortunate evening at the Palin household on December 16. The Anchorage Daily News reported at the time that the Wasilla police were called to the family home around 8:30 p.m. by Sarah, who told dispatchers that her son was “freaking out and was on some type of medication:”

Track Palin came to the house to confront his father over a truck he wanted to pick up, according to the affidavit. Todd Palin told his son not to come because he’d been drinking and taking pain medication.
“Track told him he was (going to) come anyway to beat his ass,” LaPointe wrote.
Todd Palin told the officer he got his pistol to “protect his family” and met his son with the gun when he came to the door, according to the affidavit.
Track Palin broke a window and came through it, and put his father on the ground, the report states. He began hitting him on the head.
Todd Palin escaped and left the house. He suffered injuries to his face and head, the officer wrote. He was bleeding from several cuts on his head and had liquid coming from his ear.

After his arrest, Track was charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault and criminal mischief.

This is the second time in two years that Palin has been arrested on domestic violence charges. In January of 2016, his girlfriend, Jordan Loewe, said that he’d punched her in the face, kicked her, and threatened to kill himself with his semi-automatic rifle. His mother asserts that this, like everything else, is Obama’s fault.
