Brace Yourself For Shakespeare In Love II

Well, this is a terrible idea: A Shakespeare In Love sequel is in the works, among other less-offensive sequel ideas. (Bad Santa sequel, who gives a shit. Bridget Jones III, whatever.)

We’re talking about actual theatrical release, not straight-to-DVD. But what are the odds of getting Gwynnie on board? Or Tom Stoppard, for that matter? (Joseph Fiennes may be less busy.) Maybe it’ll be the touching story of her daughter — played by Blake Lively.

It’s all the product of a pact between the Weinstein Company and their old home of Miramax. They’re also looking at Swingers and Clerks. And here is a sentence from the press release that shows that Hollywood is not that interested in new ideas:
