Cheating Cop Accused Of Gunpoint Rape Sorry About The Cheating
LatestYesterday NYPD officer Michael Pena, who’s accused of raping a teacher at gunpoint last month, pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of rape and assault. Pena, who’s being investigated for two other sex attacks, suggested on the day of his arrest that the sex was consensual, telling police “I wanted to call my girlfriend, but how am I going to call her when I got arrested for cheating?”
Pena’s lawyer mocked the Manhattan D.A.’s office for failing to convict the other “rape cops” and bungling the Dominique Strauss-Kahn case, saying, “It remains to be seen if it’s strike three for the District Attorney’s office or a base hit.” D.A. Cyrus Vance said after the hearing,
“The brazenness of the horrific attack charged by the grand jury is truly shocking. It is all the more disturbing that the defendant in this case was a law enforcement officer sworn to protect the citizens of this city. Our Sex Crimes Unit is committed to investigating cases of sexual assault in Manhattan and bringing the perpetrators to justice.”
