Leave it to the hyper-local neighborhood bloggers to do the sleuthing: a local East Village blog points out that the video of Ryan Gosling breaking up a random street fight couldn’t have happened this weekend due to the absence of the neon-colored installation that’s been on street poles for a couple of weeks now. A video interview with the giggling girl who shot the video confirms this, saying that she filmed it on June 24th and just “forgot” about the footage until this past weekend. She also confirms that it was indeed Ryan Gosling in the footage, that he acted like a hero, and that she “really doesn’t believe it was a publicity stunt.” To sum up: still a hero, still dreamy, broke up a fight in June. Moving on.
