'I Took a Dump On the Glass Ceiling:' Here's a New Trailer for Veep's Last Season
EntertainmentThe last season will consist of seven episodes, which is three less than last season. But executive producer David Mandel said previously that fewer episodes doesn’t equate to less DRAMA.
“I can only tell you they’re crazy, jam-packed episodes. I think you’ll find there’s more than 10 episodes worth of material jammed into them,” he said. Production was also delayed while star Julia Louis-Dreyfus recovered from treatment for breast cancer, which mercifully she beat with characteristic grace and good humor.
Both Louis-Dreyfus and Mandel have said that they’re comfortable putting the series to bed, as well they should be. After all, it’s hard to satirize politics when reality is so much more demented than anything that could come out of a writer’s room.
“It became clear that this season should be the last season,” Louis-Dreyfus said. “We don’t want to repeat ourselves or wear out our welcome. The story has a finality to it that feels end-of-series.”
