Israeli Dancing With The Stars Presents First Same-Sex Couple
LatestA gay contestant will be dancing with another woman — perhaps paving the way for other same-sex couples?
TV presenter Gili Shem Tov has a female partner in real life, and says, “The challenge to dance with a woman in a public contest interested me because it’s unique and has never been done before. Because I share my life with a woman and have a family with her, to me this is the most natural thing to do.” No word on whether it was her preference, or that of the producers. She’ll be dancing with pro Dorit Milman, whom every article makes a point of saying is “heterosexual”; in a promotional photo, both women are in slinky gowns, although apparently the two will be swapping “leading” parts.
Also, apropos of nothing, Pamela Anderson will be making guest appearances on the show, and evaluating routines. In case, you know, the barrier-breaking wasn’t incentive enough.
In the words of Time, “One day, of course, this kind of news won’t even warrant a story.” Today, it’s one we’re glad to pass on.
