Just when you thought that it was time to give up on books entirely — really, who needs them when TV is so good — Mindy Kaling has announced that she will begin penning her second collection of memoirs while on hiatus from The Mindy Project, which recently got the greenlight for its second season.
Kaling’s first collection of essays Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), which was released in November of 2011, focused primarily on her childhood and the steps she took to make it in comedy and show business. Her new book will center around “the high highs and low lows of the past 18 months” and will likely be published in the next year and a half.
Kaling made the announcement at her show’s PaleyFest panel where she also told the audience that she would be returning for The Office series finale as the much beloved Kelly Kapoor. Good, because if everyone else got to come back and Mindy Kaling had to stay away, we would all have to kill ourselves like Romeo and Juliet. (The Claire Danes one.)
