Brian Jeffs and Nathan Nephew, the two cofounders of Michigan Open Carry, have teamed up and written a new children’s book that’s a MUST READ for any tiny gun nut. “My Parents Open Carry” is “a wholesome family book that reflects the views of the majority of the American people, i.e., that self-defense is a basic natural right and that firearms provide the most efficient means for that defense.” Meanwhile, approximately 10,000 children are injured or killed in gun incidents each year.
“If you open carry and have a difficult time explaining why to your family and friends, or if you want to learn about the open carry of a handgun, or if you’ve wondered if open carry is right for you, then this book is what you need,” they write on the “My Parents Open Carry” website.

Unsurprisingly, “My Parents Open Carry” is filled with wrong information. Jeffs and Nephew claim that “there are several cases of robbers who staked out a store to rob only to go somewhere else because they saw someone with a gun in the store” and that “open carry can deter a crime.” The facts, however, prove otherwise.
