As she paraded onto the Country Music Video Awards stage last night, Shania’s balance failed her and she tumbled onto the ground. Immediately after the show ended, she filmed a quick video response to the fall and sent it of into the internet abyss.
While it was quite a nasty spill that definitely looked like it hurt, Shania’s clip suggests that she’s doing just fine: “I didn’t hurt myself, I have a bit of a sore thumb and that’s it.” She places the blame not on a lack of coordination, a slippery stage, or blinding light — but her shoes. And she wants to get the god-forsaken footwear out of her sight as quickly as possible: “I’m gonna auction off those shoes, actually, I want to get rid of them as soon as I can. I never want to see those shoes again.” Here’s a thought: if we all know said shoes are prone to accidents, who’s going to cough up the money to buy them?
