So, Megan Thee Stallion’s New Single ‘Hiss’ Is a Nicki Minaj Diss???
It looks as if the former collaborators are now feuding...
On Friday, Megan Thee Stallion released her first single of 2024, “Hiss.” It begins, in part: “I’m finna get this shit off my chest and lay it to rest, let’s go!” And get some shit off her chest, she certainly does—including what very much sounds like a swipe at her former collaborator, Nicki Minaj.
“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” she raps. Now, Megan’s Law is a federal statute that requires law enforcement authorities to make registered sex offenders public information.
Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, became a registered sex offender following a 1995 conviction for the first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl. Petty spent four years in prison and later, in 2022, received one year of home confinement, three years probation, and a $55,000 fine for failing to register as a sex offender when he and Minaj moved to California. I mean…we have to laugh.
How exactly Stallion and Minaj might’ve fallen out since their 2019 smash “Hot Girl Summer” is largely unknown. Fans have suspected they’ve been taking jibes at each other for at least the last two years, though.
Not to be outdone by Stallion, Minaj immediately hopped on Instagram Live after “Hiss” dropped and played a clip of an unreleased, unnamed track of her own: “Bad bitch she like six foot, I call her Big Foot/ The bitch fell off, I said get up on your good foot,” Minaj raps, apparently referencing the injuries Stallion sustained in the 2020 shooting perpetrated by Tory Lanez. Worse yet, Minaj then proceeded to post a photo of her feet on Twitter. Her likes, too, are, well, about as low as you’d expect for a person capable of marrying a sexual predator and gleefully mocking a woman who was shot.
Fortunately, it seems like Stallion isn’t all that bothered as of now.
