Taylor Kitsch had a very strong negative reaction when Vulture asked whether he’d consider reprising his role as Tim Riggins — fullback of our hearts — for a hypothetical Friday Night Lights movie.
“I’ll just say no. [Slams fist on table.] No, period. I’m not doing it. I’m never gonna be in that movie. There was already a movie! And the show ended fuckin’ spot-on. We’re good.”
Safe to assume Kitsch then sat back on his Igloo cooler, pushed the sweaty long hair from his eyes and took a swig of beer before staring off longingly into the Texas sunset.
Don’t let Riggins crush your hopes for a Friday Night Lights movie. Let showrunner Peter Berg do that instead! As the director told Collider, “There’s not gonna be a movie. We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn’t; I’ve come to believe it’s probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it’s gonna happen.”
You know, as much as I love FNL, I think Berg and Kitsch are probably right. Clear eyes, full hearts.
