I’m sorry in advance for all the terrible news you’re about to read.
Here’s all the shit we couldn’t cover today:
- Stormy Daniels’s lawyer says the porn star was “physically threatened” to stay quiet about her alleged affair with Donald Trump. “The fact is that my client was physically threatened to stay silent about what she knew about Donald Trump,” Michael Avenatti told CNN, who also claims that six other women have come forward to him with “similar stories” about relationships with Trump. We’ll know more details, maybe, on March 25, when CBS is planning to air its 60 Minutes special with Daniels. [CNN]
- White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, unhelpfully, she has “no knowledge” of the situation with Daniels. [TPM]
- The three Tennessee Republicans—Reps. Bob Ramsey, Bill Sanderson and Bud Hulsey—who refused to support a measure denouncing neo-Nazis are saying their refusal stems from language calling the groups “domestic terrorist organizations,” which is…. what they are. [TPM]
- John Kelly wants to assure the public that this Game of Thrones shit at the White House is over. Sure! [The Hill]
- Everyone at the White House is feuding, pretty much all the time. [Washington Post]
- We also learned this week that more media personalities might be heading to the White House, including former ambassador to the UN and current Fox contributor John Bolton. [Washington Post]
- Fox News’ Sean Hannity and Shep Smith are fighting. [The Hill]
- More racism from a Trump administration official: After Hawaii Rep. Colleen Hanabusa told a moving, disturbing story about her grandparents’s experience in internment camps, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke decided to respond by saying, “Konnichiwa.” Hawaii Senator Mazie K. Hirono called his remark “flippant & juvenile.” [CNN]
- A federal appeals court has ruled that financial investment advisers do not have to act out of the best interest of their clients, overturning an Obama-era protection. Seems bad! [The Hill]
- Miami commisioners are challenging a Florida state law that penalizes municipal officials for trying to enact local gun control rules. [Miami Herald]
- Steve Bannon is “fascinated” by (wishes he could bone??) fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. [The Spectator]
