Katy Manning played Jo Grant, the Doctor’s companion, on Doctor Who from 1971 to 1973. And today’s her birthday!

The early seventies were a big monster era for the show, and Manning got to battle a lot of gross things covered in roots. In the clip above, you can watch her reacting to some Time Lord workplace discrimination — she’s not the tea lady! Manning also appeared on spinoff The Sarah Jane Adventures last year.
