We have good news for those of you planning to have a tumultuous relationship with a dashing Time Lord, Starfleet officer, or scruffy-looking nerf-herder: It’s impossible to shed tears in space. Today Shuttle Endeavour astronauts were conducting a space walk when Mike Fincke told his crewmates, “Just as an FYI, my right eye is stinging like crazy right now. It’s watering a lot. Must have gotten something” in it. Later he noted that tears in space “don’t fall off of your eye . . . they kind of stay there.”
