As a sort of advent calendar of kitsch, Pictorial will be counting down the final twelve days before Christmas by featuring some holiday presents of days gone by.

Looking for a gift that says pure sophistication? How about some perfume and an accompanying box made of green satin moire?

This ad from the November 1990 McCall’s is giving off very strong early-nineties floral romance novel cover vibes. It even contains a vase whose color we could safely describe as “ashes of roses.” And how often can you acquire a keepsake for a mere $6 with purchase? Almost never! Yes, Emeraude, I would very much like to play for keeps.
