Dakota Fanning Is Not A Kid Anymore, Get Over It

Latest

With new photoshoots for Marie Claire and Flare, Dakota Fanning is definitely not a little girl anymore — and we know this because it says so on Marie Claire‘s cover.

Of course, since we’re used to thinking of her as the little girl from I Am Sam or the little girl from Uptown Girls, it’s kind of strange to see her looking so mature.

(And sometimes she doesn’t look like herself at all.)

But on the other hand, Dakota often played characters who were precocious and knowing. And that quality — some kind of wise-beyond-her-years vibe — still remains, as she ages.

Unlike some other child stars, Dakota manages not to be photographed in skanky outfits or half-nude, swathed in fabric. Yet she still emits a Lolita-esque air; she’s the innocent who is not that innocent. Because she’s experienced, comfortable in her own skin.

She’s also 16 and this is super cute and totes appropriate. Love it!
