Disney World Princess Does AMA; Receives Creepy Messages, Of Course
LatestA young woman who’s played multiple characters at a Disney theme park recently did a Reddit AMA. And you’ll be shocked at some of the creepy private messages she received afterward. (No, actually, you won’t.)
Last weekend, longtime redditor Kristen Sotakoun figured what the hey, why not do an AMA about her years of working as various characters at Walt Disney World, including Pocahontas, Mulan and the fairy Silvermist. The Q&A was quite popular, finally offering people a chance to ask how princesses are picked and trained (and whether they get propositioned by adults) Plus there was this heart-meltingly adorable story:
TINY CHILD YOU ARE TOO CUTE AND I CANNOT DEAL.
Unfortunately, as she wrote in a piece for the Daily Dot, along with the positive reaction came creepy comments in her inbox, such as:
- “I wanna take YOU straight to dvd, if you know what I mean”
- “Hey, heard you kinda liked balls in your mouth”
- “I don’t usually do this but you are absolutely gorgeous. If you are ever in Arkansas (don’t hold that against me, not originally from here) hit me up.”
- “Your so beautiful,” plus a shitload of hearts
Said Sotakoun:
I am very aware of how the Internet works. It’s a series of tubes that contain everyone’s thoughts, feelings, and desires. Those feelings are sometimes really awesome, like the stories people shared with me about their Disney experiences. That being said, those same tubes sometimes contain the feelings of people who want to watch me eat peanut butter, slowly, while hula-hooping. Those are the people who decided to message me privately on Reddit.
And of course it wouldn’t be the Internet if someone hadn’t requested pictures of her feet:
“Not trying to be weird.” No one is ever trying to be weird and yet so many succeed with flying colors.
