Here's an Ad Encouraging You to Look Up Marilyn Monroe's Skirt
Latest
Charged with promoting Marilyn: Intimate Exposures, a new book of photographs of the star, ad agency Preuss und Preuss decided on a rather sketchy approach. They slapped Marilyn’s legs on poles around the city, attached a flapping skirt at the waist and waited for curious passers-by.
As you can see from the video above (via DesignTaxi), several were tempted to flip up the skirt, which looked like a plastic picnic tablecloth, and look underneath. Those who did were rewarded with the cover of the upcoming book and a QR code that could be scanned for more info.
This is gross for a lot of reasons. But the QR code might very well be the saddest detail of all.
