Judge Denies Conservatorship for Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes’ parents tried to obtain a temporary conservatorship for the troubled actress but a judge denied the petition and requested more information, most likely from the doctors overseeing her mandatory two-week psychiatric hold. But one of the more remarkable things about the court documents that her parents filed is that they allege that Bynes spent about $200,000 on weed—since June. Girl loves her some trees.

Bynes’ parents definitely believe that she is a danger to herself and others after she set a fire in some rando’s driveway. Whether or not there is any truth to rumors circulating that she is schizophrenic, it’s pretty apparent that if she actually did smoke $200k worth of pot in a six week time period, that she is, at the very least, not thinking clearly. Studies show that excessive habitual marijuana use can cause psychosis. So it’s true what they say about “too much of a good thing.” From the docs:

The parents say Amanda had $4 million in the bank, but is blowing a huge amount of cash — she spent $1.2 mil in a very short amount of time. Amanda withdrew $100k on June 4 and another $100k on July 2 and the parents have no idea where the money went, but they mention they believe she spends “a substantial amount” for marijuana and other illegal substances.

Her parents also believe that she’s homeless, and said she’s not connected with reality. (She told them that she “cabbed it” from New York to L.A.) They also say she’s super paranoid and thinks people are watching her through smoke alarms, which sounds about right after smoking hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of psychoactive drugs.

Oh and this:

Amanda has “profound issues with her body image” and is “obsessed with the fact that she (and others) are ugly.”
