The new service Cloud Girlfriend will allow single guys on Facebook to receive messages from a fake girl, thereby convincing friends that his “girlfriend who lives out of town” actually exits. The instructions say:
“Step 1: Define your perfect girlfriend.
Step 2: We bring her into existence.
Step 3: Connect and interact with her publicly on your favorite social network.
Step 4: Enjoy a public long distance relationship with your perfect girl.”
Having a computer control a Facebook account is a violation of the site’s Terms of Service agreement, so it’s unlikely the company will get their project off the ground. Not to mention that the entire concept sounds like a bad teen comedy waiting to happen.
