You guys. This is Lentil, short for Lentil Bean, and he is a French Bulldog puppy who was born with a cleft palate and deformed snout. His sister Edamame was born with similar conditions, but sadly died not long after birth.
However, the odds are looking a little better for lil’ LB, as his foster family is nursing him to health. He eats through a tube every few hours and is gaining about an ounce per day (at this rate, he’ll be obese!), and the hope is when he’s bigger and stronger, he’ll be a good candidate for corrective surgery.
