Meet 'Lucille Baller,' the Violent Rap Alter-Ego of a Dallas Cop

Latest

During the day, Dallas Police Lieutenant Regina Smith oversees burglary and theft investigative detectives. Off hours, however, she’s a rapper named “Lucille Baller,” who calls her revolver “Ms. Lucy,” brags about her shooting skills, and, much like any run-of-the-mill rapper, threatens to fuck her haters up. The only issue is that maaaybe a high-ranking cop shouldn’t threaten to stick bullets “from the rooter to the tooter and bring it out” while in uniform?

Smith is now on administrative leave while the department investigates her musical side project, which used to be hosted at Big Rush In, now unfortunately “under construction.” Luckily, the Dallas Morning News saved the videos above.

“Lucy keep it real, I’m going to tell you like it is. Don’t push Ms. Lucy, because you won’t like the consequences,” she raps on the video. “Lucy got a drawer full of all day suckers, don’t mess with me, or I will shoot the [BEEEEP], ‘cuz Lucille Baller she been to hell and back.”

Smith’s story is more complicated than it seems; she started “Big Rush In” after her husband, an officer who was known as “Big Russian” (get it??), was killed in duty. The website used to say that “BRI was created out of tragedy and loss, yet progresses forward fulfilling God-Given dreams.” In her videos, Smith talks shit on her coworkers — “I have been alone in my struggle, as far as support from the department,” she says — and photos of his grave and the two of them in uniform are prevalent.

It sucks if it’s true that her department hasn’t supported her, but they may have a point about her alter ego. “It’s inappropriate action by a police officer – especially a high-ranking officer – to the extent it talks about killing people, and well, that’s criminal activity and you simply cannot have it,” Dr. Sam Walker, Emeritus Professor of Criminal Justice as the University of Nebraska, told News 8. “You could have kids in the community saying, ‘Hey, this police officer is talking about shooting people, why can’t we?'” Can’t really argue with that. Also, she needs to work on her skills and hire an art director for her videos if she’s serious about her rap career.

However, I think we can all agree that Lucille Baller is a GENIUS name for a rapper.
