The television industry has figured out that many people tune into the Academy Awards on their television while simultaneously reading snarky commentary on their computers. In an effort to capture viewers’ attention on both screens, this year the Oscars will broadcast backstage video streams, so as soon as winners leave the stage you’ll see them celebrating. There’s a potential for lots of entertaining footage of stars fixing their makeup and hoisting up their strapless bras, but it could also mean everyone gets unlimited time to finish their insanely boring thank yous.
