Empire airs its two-hour season finale tonight, so prepare for the next several months of life to be a meaningless, incurable existence. On the bright side, this finale will kill us we’re in for a killer season closer.

So says people like L.A. Times critic Gerrick Kennedy, who previewed the first half of the finale last week. Is it possible that a character we love could die tonight? Yes. Lucious? Andre? Vernon? Malcolm? Cookie? Jamal? Hakeem? Let’s just prepare for the worst.
