Time now to resurrect “On Our Own” from the recesses of our brains. The forgotten about 1994 TGIF series was about the Jerrico family – a group of 7 brothers and sisters – trying to make their way in St. Louis after their parents are tragically killed in a car accident.

What was so special and exciting about the Jerrico family (besides that all of them had first names that started with the letter “J”) was that all but one of the siblings in the TV show were actually siblings IRL! The Smolletts.

You may recognize young Jussie Smollett (up top in the hat on the right) as Jamal Lyon from the hit TV show Empire. I know I do.
