Basketball Player Derrick Rose Accused of Drugging and Gang-Raping Ex-Girlfriend
LatestAn ex-girlfriend of Derrick Rose, basketball player for the Chicago Bulls, is suing the athlete, claiming that he and two of his friends drugged and gang-raped her. The unidentified woman dated the 26-year-old point guard between 2011 and 2013. During the course of their relationship, she claims Rose tried pressuring her to masturbate in front of him, permit him to have sex with her friends and engage in group sex with strangers. The woman refused to participate in any of his requests.
The incident occurred in August 2013, when Rose and two friends—including one who is also his manager—invited her to his home in Beverly Hills. Via TMZ:
She says there, they slipped a drug into her drink with the aim of raping her. The plaintiff says she escaped the house with a friend, but later that night, Rose and his friends broke into her apartment and gang raped her while she was incapacitated. She says she remembers only “flashes” of the incident, but can remember the defendants forcibly raping her.
The woman says she waited to file the suit against Rose because she was “ashamed and embarrassed” of the incident and was concerned about her conservative family finding out.
