Cheryl Tiegs, Who Is Not a Doctor, Says Cover Girl Ashley Graham Is 'Unhealthy'

Latest

Cheryl Tiegs, a person who I hope Campy National Treasure Janice Dickinson™ threw the most perfect shade at when someone declared Tiegs the first supermodel in history one time, is not happy that the beauty standard is being fucked with. The three-time Sports Illustrated cover girl made it known that she thinks body activist and plus-size model Ashley Graham, the current SI cover girl, is “not healthy.” Of course, her barometer for “healthy” and “nope, not healthy” is TV medical professional Dr. Mehmet Oz—not that Oz’s record of having a “dubious relationship with scientific facts” should be of any concern when it comes to authoritative merit or anything.

Tiegs was approached by an E! News reporter at the Global Green USA Pre-Oscar Party about the historic swimsuit issue, which made waves for featuring its first “curvy girl” on the cover. Graham herself has used the opportunity to spotlight the fact that heath and beauty shouldn’t be defined by size.

When asked whether Tiegs was “excited” over the fact that an industry that has been responsible for unattainable beauty and body “norms” is finally maybe veering towards body positivity, she was like hell naw.

“Actually, I don’t like it that we’re talking about full-figured women,” she responded.

“It’s glamorizing them, and your waist should be small than 35 [inches]. That’s what Dr. Oz said, and I’m sticking to it,” she added. “I don’t think it’s healthy. Her face is beautiful, but I don’t think it’s healthy in the long run.”

Turning to DListed for this one:

“I know Cheryl thinks she’s the Michael Moore of obesity truth, but damn if she doesn’t need to calm down. It’s just a non-skinny in a bikini on the cover of a magazine for dads to read while they’re taking a dump.”

Preach.
