Smallville Actress Allison Mack Arrested in Sex Cult Trafficking Case

In November 2017, rumors surrounding Smallville’s Allison Mack (she played Clark Kent’s BFF Chloe Sullivan) surfaced, alleging that the actress was a key recruiter for sex cult DOS, or “dominus obsequious sororium,” Latin for “master over the slave women.” DOS is part of the secretive group Nxivm, which, in a recent, harrowing New York Times report, was revealed to have branded women with cauterizing rods; leader Keith Raniere, too, allegedly forced members to go on “near-starvation diets” to satisfy his sexual desires. In March of this year, former cult spokesperson Frank Parlato shared that Mack would soon be taken into custody and that day has come: Mack was arrested Friday and will be arraigned this afternoon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Mack, along with Nxivm leader Raniere (alias, “Vanguard”), have been charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York disclosed.

United States Attorney Richard P. Donoghue shared the following statement:

“As alleged in the indictment, Allison Mack recruited women to join what was purported to be a female mentorship group that was, in fact, created and led by Keith Raniere. The victims were then exploited, both sexually and for their labor, to the defendants’ benefit.”

Mack recruited victims by telling them they were participating “women-only organization that would empower them and eradicate purported weaknesses that the NXIVM curriculum taught were common in women.”

Mack’s management declined to comment.
