Samantha Bee, comedian, TV host, grown woman, called Ivanka Trump a “feckless cunt” last week on her show. Unsurprisingly, people (mainly conservatives) were furious, and President Trump wondered why she hadn’t been fired yet. Bee shortly apologized for the remark after advertisers pledged to cut ties with the show, adding that she “crossed a line,” and now TBS is reportedly going to be a lot more involved with Bee’s show Full Frontal, like some buzzkill babysitter armed with soap for washing out her mouth.

Following the backlash, network management will have more scrutiny over Bee’s show, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Hollywood Reporter. The plan is for management to work with the show to prevent another incident that could potentially scare advertisers and draw condemnation from both sides of the political aisle. (TBS declined to comment on the record.)
The network had previously given Bee essentially full creative license, with a source close to the company saying that management has supported her artistic vision of the show.
This is quite a shame, as I’d love to hear Bee call more vile people cunts! In the wake of TBS’s decision (or lip service), might I suggest calling someone close to you a cunt today?
