12-Year-Old Gives Birth During Field Trip

Yesterday in the Netherlands a 12-year-old girl was on a school trip when she started experiencing violent stomach pains. When ambulance staffers arrived they realized she was giving birth. “Neither the girl nor her family had realised she was pregnant, and there were no external signs to show it,” said a spokesman. Officials didn’t know how far along the girl was, but the girl and the baby “are doing well” and the newborn has been placed with a social worker.
