A Star Is Born Cast Continues to Shed Tears on Press Tour

The A Star Is Born press circuit has been extremely tear-stained and this week is no different. Mind you these are exalted tears of intense appreciation for fellow cast mates tinged with bittersweet emotions, for they cannot help but contrast the inexplicable joy of being part of the A Star Is Born cast with all that came before.

On Monday the film’s, for lack of a better word, stars—Bradly Cooper, Lady Gaga, Anthony Ramos, and Sam Elliott—appeared on ABC News where a healthy two out of four of them cried openly. People reports that Gaga got “teary eyed” as Cooper extolled her virtues. “I’m just so glad God gave her the talent that she has and he chose her, because that’s quite a vessel to go through.”

Later, Ramos cried as he explained “I grew up in the projects. Virtually I had no chance, and I had this woman that said, ‘I’m not giving up on you. Ever.’” Ramos is referring to Gaga, who was also crying as she listened with exemplary spirit, heart-rendering presence.

My personal favorite moment comes when the interviewer, Adrienne Bankert, says to Elliott, who has just been talking about (surprise!) how remarkable his costars are, “I can see the tears in your eyes,” and he responds, “that’s because I was up until three in the morning.”

Previously on the press tour, Gaga was moved to tears at the Toronto International Film Festival when she received multiple standing ovations at the film’s screening.

This movie better be spectacular, or make me cry, or both!
