Founding Daddys Nicole Lipp & Carlye Tamaren on Creating Not Your Daddy’s Films

Tamaren and Lipp, along with their three co-founders, couldn’t find a film community, so they created their own, the Los Angeles-based Not Your Daddys Films. “Truly, this came from us wanting to screen our own shorts with other women and nonbinary directors, and we didn’t know any,” Lipp told Jezebel at SXSW in March. “We know they exist, we know we’re all out here,” Tamaren added. “We just wanted to all get together and support and brag about each other, showcase each other.”
