We kind of love that Christopher Kane‘s Spring collection was inspired by the young Queen Elizabeth — even if, in some cases, the inspiration was very abstract. Not that we wouldn’t be psyched to see the royal We in neon!
The textiles employed Japanese tattoo prints — which, unless the Queen is hiding a lot, was another realm of inspiration entirely.
Some of the dresses were a literal (!) fusion of leather and lace.
I think we can all agree that Kate Middleton needs to start rocking this look right now.
Shoes were overtly retro-inspired.
In other cases, the fusion was just pure pretty.
The playing with mumsy fussiness was fun — if less than office-apropos.
