I think that this guy (I am disinclined to say this “man” for some reason) might be well served to ask his girlfriend why she likes to wear her pubic hair in a natural style. She might have a good and interesting reason. For example, if she were to say, “Because my pubes are so sharp and coarse and if I don’t let them grow natural, the tips of the regrowth will make your gums bleed and put your eyes out,” he might reconsider asking her to shave at all.
Not that we know anything about this at my house.
