Donald Trump's 'Attitude' Is Very Prepared for North Korea Summit
Politics“I think I’m very well prepared,” he told reporters on Thursday, before breathlessly adding: “I don’t think I have to prepare very much. It’s about the attitude. It’s about willingness to get things done.”
Trump’s approach to one of the most consequential and nuclear war-adjacent meetings of his time in office is not unlike my approach to my very bad high school presentation about the conditional tense in Spanish class—a half-ass effort that impressed perhaps only myself when I somehow pulled off a C.
“But I think I’ve been preparing for the summit for a long time,” he added. OK, sure.
“As has the other side…I think they’ve been preparing for a long time, also,” he continued. “So this isn’t a question of preparation, it’s a question of whether or not people want it to happen, and we’ll know that very quickly.” I really have no idea what he means by “people,” considering the “people” who wanted to cancel the summit was…him.
As of now, the meeting is scheduled on June 12, but that’s a whole five days away, and honestly who knows what could happen between now and then.
