We’ve already heard the news that David Letterman is retiring as host of The Late Show, but for those who missed the big news here’s the full announcement from Thursday night’s show.
It’s long (about 10 minutes) but it’s a rather lovely statement from a man who has been in this business for decades (he’s done more than 4,000 shows at CBS alone). Whether you’re a longtime fan of Letterman who remembers him from his days on local Indiana television or someone who just watches for the occasional funny Top 10 list, you’ll appreciate this comedian’s farewell to his favorite gig.
