Mom Punishes Daughter by Selling Her Katy Perry Tickets on Facebook
LatestA mom decided to teach her daughter a lesson by selling the teen’s Katy Perry concert tickets.
A Fargo, North Dakota mom told WDAZ she was disciplining her teen daughter for disrespectful behavior when she sold the tickets for an upcoming show. Cindy Bjerke said she posted the tickets for sale on the Fargo/Moorhead Online Garage Sale Facebook page and quickly ignited a fury of responses from people.
Bjerke said the post, which has since been deleted, read “spoiled brat daughter doesn’t deserve these tickets.” The tickets sold in about five minutes for $90, which seems like a pretty good deal for concert tickets these days. Via New York Daily News:
The ad racked up more than 200 likes and many commenters applauded the mom’s blunt disciplinary skills. But others criticized Bjerke, saying the punishment was a personal matter that shouldn’t be handled in such a public manner, she said.
“It doesn’t matter what side you’re on, you’re always wrong to somebody,” she told the TV station. “I think a lot of parents are like me and feel they are being bullied over how they should parent their own children.”
The Facebook post was taken down because admins at Fargo/Moorhead Online Garage said said it was attracting too much attention and distracted from the purpose of their page. If you’re waiting for me to make a joke about how a real punishment would be making someone endure a Katy Perry concert, don’t hold your breath. I would never make a cheap joke at the expense of those of you who bought and loved Teenage Dream.
