Historian Silvano Vinceti, who suggested just last month that Mona Lisa is based on Leonardo Da Vinci’s male lover, now plans to exhume the remains of noblewoman Lisa Gherardini Del Giocondo, extract her DNA, and recreate her face. She may have been a model for the painting, so Vincenti will dig under Florence’s Saint Orsola convent where she’s believed to be buried — though locals says the crypt was bulldozed into a trash dump 30 years ago.
