Quavo and Nicki Minaj have released a very colorful video for their duet “She for Keeps.” In it, Quavo wears a fanny pack and raps about things he enjoys about his object of desire: “Like the way she take them pictures, it’s the angle (flash) / Like the way she keep her business all personal.” He also likes her body and how she adorns it (“Nails and hair all long, shoppin’ spree in Hong Kong / Ass fat in her jeans, she don’t like to wear thong”).
Nicki Minaj meanwhile, asserts that she is “perfect,” and just when you might be thinking, “Hmmm, this sounds like a feel-good low-key ballad about the impossible standards set for women to be considered worth keeping around by a man,” she informs you, “I’m me, when will these girls ever see / You will never be Nicki, and that’s the real kiki.”
But the beat’s nice. Relaxing, even.
