There is a new development in the investigation of San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick and Seattle Seahawk Ricardo Lockette: a phone call recording of one man speaking to a 911 emergency operator about a nude woman in their Viceroy Hotel room.
In April, the two, along with fellow 49er Quinton Patton, were the source of an sexual investigation by Miami police after a woman said she was hanging out with the guys one minute and woke up in the hospital the next. From our original story:
According to a Miami police report, inserted below, the woman, whose name has not been released, says she arrived at Lockette’s apartment at the Viceroy Hotel on April 1 to visit him, Kaerpernick and another 49ers player named Quinton Patton. She says that she mixed everyone drinks and “gave them shots.” Then one of the men, the name has been redacted, told her that “in order to drink the shots” she had to ‘hit’ their bong filled with marijuana.
Then they all sat around and watched a basketball game, when she felt light-headed and went to a back bedroom to lie down. There she took off her jewelry and jacket, and Kaerpernick came in behind her and started kissing her and undressing her. She told police that the two had had sex before. In the bedroom that night, “she got completely naked” and Kaerpernick said he would be right back and left the room. She and Kaerpernick didn’t have sex but she says that while she was in the bed nude, Patton and Lockette opened the door and “peeked” inside.
She reacted by saying, “What are you doing? Where is Colin? Get out!”
The woman told police the two men left the room and closed the door but she can’t remember anything after that. Just that she woke up in a hospital bed but doesn’t know who she arrived there or who drove her to the hospital.
On the tape, obtained by TMZ, there are two phone calls. The first is barely audible but the second contains a man calling 911 to request the removal of a naked woman who he says refuses to leave his apartment. TMZ identifies the caller as Lockette. Here is the transcribed conversation between 911 and the caller, who refers to himself as a security guard:
911: You’re the security?
Caller: Yes.
911: Does she have any weapons?
Caller: I don’t know if she has any weapons.
911: We’ll send someone there. [inaudible]
Caller: There is a young lady in my friend’s bed and she’s not leaving. He’s not here and we asked her to leave. We’ve told her that he won’t be here tonight and she says that she’s not leaving until she sees him tonight. …

911: Is she white, black …
Caller: She’s a black female.
911: What’s her name?
Caller: I’m not sure of her name.
911: What is she wearing?
Caller: She actually took her clothes off and laid in the bed.
911: She’s fully naked in the bed?
Caller: Yes.
911: Is she waiting for her boyfriend, is that it?
Caller: No, he’s not her boyfriend. He’s just somebody that she wants to sleep with. He’s not here so she went and got in the bed naked and said she’s going to stay here until he gets back.
At this point, the unidentified woman who sparked the investigation into the footballers because of this strange and possibly sexual situation has not pressed any formal charges. Last month, Kaepernick took to Twitter to tweet his innocence and recently said at a prayer breakfast that he’s learned from this situation, according to the fan site, Niners Nation.
“It’s been put out that I did something wrong. Even though it’s a bad circumstance, a bad situation, I feel like ultimately I’ve been blessed because it’s changed my way of thinking. It’s made me stronger. It’s made me look at things differently. …
Even this morning, this is a blessing. It makes me very happy to know that people are staying behind me the way they have.”
Elsewhere the Miami Police have been extremely quiet regarding their investigation and have released no new details in the case, outside their assumption that Kaepernick was not in the apartment during the 911 calls.
